It is almost indisputable that no matter what do the kids do, they are in the best of their comfort zone and in maximum sync with nature. Most of the time the toddlers / young kids are seen to be naturally relaxing in a certain position, to the extent, that they even fall asleep (deeply) in that position. That’s the reason that one of the postures has been named after their relaxation as Shashankasana (Shishuasana, Balasana, Child pose or Embryo pose). Shashankasana not only imitates their regular relaxation technique but at the same time, brings in those benefits as well by keeping one in their most comfortable zone.
Full expression of child pose may not be an easy task for many. In that case, it is important to take support of some props. You can sit on stacks of pillow and perform child pose in case, your hips are not getting pushed on the heels or you can roll a towel and place your ankles and the frontal part of your feet on top of the rolled towel in this posture in case you feel extreme stretch in that area.
- Practicing Child pose daily for few minutes would do the wonder of releasing the stiffness from the lower back which is forced to become stiff due to our long hour sitting or standing.
- As the blood flows towards the heart, the heartbeat slows down and one starts approaching into quiet zone. As a result, the anxious mind is automatically brought down to a calming mind.
- There are many benefits of performing this posture with of course, certain restrictions. Check the details of Shashakasana to understand the posture fully.
Few rounds of this practice few times a day can heal your lower back to the point of rejuvenation. Check me out for more on http://www.shammisyogalaya.com
