Unlike animals who are on their fours, which allows them to distribute the weight bearing on wider base, the human stance which is upright exerts more pressure on the spinal column. This upright position while we are standing or the slouched position when we are sitting -both results in damage to our spine. This, in turn, leads to psycho-somatic consequences. To counter this damage, it is imperative to make extra vigilant efforts with regards to ensuring appropriate exercising of the spine. One, consciously, needs to include spine strengthening and stretching as a part of their daily activity and work out regime to further the objective towards keeping your spine supple and secure.

Stimulating your spine from different angles, using various yoga postures, helps lubricate the intervertebral discs and improves the health of the nerves by stretching and strengthening the spine. This results in improved movement of the body. Simple activities like sitting down and getting up do not seem to be a herculean task. Healthy spinal cord improves the functioning of the nervous system. The aches and the pains associated with one’s spine are eliminated. One feels light and bright.

The embedded video consists of 5 spinal movements which work on your spine to cover concave stretch, convex stretch, vertical stretch, lateral stretch and twisting. This leads to a complete workout for the optimal health of the spine. Recommended for back pain, sciatica, slip disc, frozen shoulder, tight shoulders, neck pain etc.
