It was gratifying to receive an enthusiastic response from all the yoga enthusiasts, who posted their videos, of their attempts at performing Sirshasana. ‘Feedback and guidance ‘comments have been posted so as to allow you to further your practice towards attaining what seemed like the unattainable – a perfect Sirshasana. It will not be long before I would be personally guiding the 10 practitioners, who show diligence and passion, by regularly posting their practice videos on @shammisyogalaya #yogawithshammi
With this video, ‘Sirshasan for beginners – Series 2, we are taking this engagement and alignment to the next higher level, wherein, the same movement is replicated with the support of the wall. The base of the wall here, compared to the chair in the Series -1, is narrow. The purpose is a shift in the engagement and involvement of the muscle groups, training them to develop right memory to handle this upright position independently with just a light support, thereby, getting trained to stand in the middle of the room, without any external dependency, when we move to Series -3.
Go ahead with the practice and fulfill your dream of hanging upside down independently.
This link is for those who missed on the practice of ‘Sirshasan for beginners – Series 1’.
Caution: Be mindful with your practice. Hurrying without understanding can lead to injury and delay the learning process. Avoid in case of neck pain, severe back pain, high BP, vertigo, cervical spondylosis, heart problem or any severe medical issue.
